She cruised her kid back and forth for a few shots too.

He'll have something to talk about at school now!

one of the most irresponsible things I've ever seen at the Gap...and that's saying a lot

you should be ashamed of yourself

Shut up Bobby. You know nothing apparently.

Hey Bobby...you know nothing about what I was doin, so mind your own business! One of the most irresponsible things you've seen at the gap LMAO! OBVIOUSLY YOU DON'T GO THERE MUCH!

There's an extremely capable, experienced and knowledgeable rider up front... heck of a rider. And she's, legally, bringing her kid (who also has exposure to motorcycling) through the Gap.

There are safe ways to get through that section of road. I don't believe that one person's opinion will delegate that of the general populous - yours or mine. But, personally, I don't see the irresponsibility in this scenario. Just my two cents.

not to mention is it irresponsible in your mind b/c he's on a sportbike w/ a fullface helmet, leather jacket, gloves and plants or b/c he's NOT on a cruiser w/ a half helmet, tshirt and shorts on!?!

Doesn't matter how good of a rider she is. Unless that kid is Krazy-glu'ed to her there's a chance of him coming off. An even if he does have "exposure to motorcycles" the fact that he's waving his arm out like that and mugging for the camera is proof that he hasn't been taught enough. I will give the chick props for putting a lid on him that fits and putting protective gear on him.

And no, honey, I don't think it's irresponsible because I ride a cruiser...I can scuff pucks with the best of them. I think it's irresponsible because I'm a sport bike rider with kids who knows what it's like to lay it down.

Geez Bobby. Judge much? That kid stands just as much of a chance of getting hurt in a car as he does on the back of a bike with an experienced rider. At what age do you think it's not irresponsible to introduce your kid to motorcycle riding? Oh wait...it's none of your business. You don't know how fast or slow she was going. Sorry but I just can't stand people that pass judgement when they don't know all the aspects of the story.

"Doesn't matter how good of a rider she is."

Yeah, it really does matter. With a poor rider, there's a much better chance that the kiddo wouldn't be safe. With a safe rider, safety greatly improves.

First of all, that child IS basically glued to her on there. He is wedged in there so tight he can wiggle around all he wants, but he's not moving. I've had to pry him out of that seat behind her.

Secondly you know nothing of the situation. The child didn't ride the Gap. She rode him from one curve to the other to get his picture taken (at a very slow pace and legally I might add). Even then the child is sporting every possible piece of riding gear available for him.

That doesn't matter though. This is the perfect example of typical ignorance. Don't know the situation? Not what you would do? Guess you must bash her then, right?

That child is out there getting valuable experience learning from someone who is not only an experienced rider but also a parent.

If you want to bash anyone, bash the ones out there who are really being careless with no protective gear, riding in the wrong lanes, not wearing helmets, and not caring for their safety or others.

Hey Bobby! Guess in your attempt to be Mr. High and Mighty you forgot to notice that she has scooted forward and wedged him in the seat with her. There goes your theory on him falling off.

I don't think riding kids on a bike is irresponsible, big d. I've been on bikes (front and back) since I was 5. I think doing it at the Gap is, however, insanely irresponsible.

Celestia said...

Bobby, if riding a child on a bike at the Gap is irresponsible, then I would like to see your comments on all the other photos of people riding their kids through the Gap on their bikes...

Oh wait...you've only made a point to argue about it on THIS photo.

Unknown said...

Plus he doesn't know he wasn't even on the bike for 5 mins up there!

"Bobby" wants to talk about how it's not unsafe to ride a kid on a bike....but it is unsafe at the Gap. Right? Well "Bobby" do you think that people don't go fast on other roads or that only at the gap do people blow turns? Just what type of road do you think would be safe?

Riding kids at the Gap is retarded no matter whether it's a cruiser or a sport bike. At least this girl had gear on him. And I was under the impression that she was riding him end to end. If it was just for a photo op then it's not quite as irresponsible as I had first thought. Still not a stroke of genius with all the squids up there...but not nearly as bad.

Bobby, your comments are idiotic at best. You're going to tell me that it's safer to ride (kid or no kid) on streets with intersections stop lights, cars coming from driveways and all other manner of hazzards than it is on this road at an ABVIOUSLY slow speed? Look at the pic you turd! In a curve and the bike is nearly straight up!

Bobby, you are quite obviously in over your head. Wake up and smell the coffee, go pick on someone else!

Allison, GREAT SHOT! Gratz on making Highlights!
