Weekly Update - August 08, 2007
*Update* 8/10/07
Well maybe things are starting to calm down to a more reasonable level if today is any indication. There were still 10 LEOs on the Dragon, but they were being much more professional. We don't expect them to totally clear out any time soon, and that's not a bad thing as long as you are legal and they play by the rules, so use your head and you can still have a good time in the area.
Thanks to all those who wrote in with their concerns, you folks are awesome!
The sister of a friend had their bike stolen in N. Georgia Sunday. If anyone sees this purple Harley or the KTM running around, let them know!
Otherwise, not a lot to say that hasn't already been said, so we'll just move along to the highlights if that's alright with you.

Thank you for clearing the slate folks.
Has anyone heard from Jim and his scouting?
We went out Sunday morning, we got there around 10:30ish and left after one pass in each direction.
We met up with the sickest Mercedes I have ever seen, twin turbo V12 with over 800HP and 1100 ft lbs. It was just amazing to see and hear.
As we rolled through the LEO were just getting there. 4 in all when we were there. 3 running radar and 1 tagging along with one of the radar units.
As we got the the lake at the end there was one under a tree with Radar and we gave a wave and he was nice enough to wave back. I have no ill regard to the LEO that are there, they are doing what they are told to do. The other LEO's we saw out there were more stone faced when waved to.
I had decided that once I crossed into Tenn. to just do 30MPH all the way through and see if it was bearable. I am sad to say its just not fun you can drive the entire road at 30 and never hit your brakes once. It kind of took the fun out of things, that said doing 35-40 makes it more interesting. Now, if I was in my FJ Cruiser and not my Porsche I am sure 30 would seem like flying. Its all relative. I would have also been diving into the pull off's a lot to let faster vehicles by.
Were we harassed? No, not at all. Did we do anything to get us unneeded attention? No, I drove in 3rd gear and putted through the entire way. Was it fun? No.
Would I go back anytime soon? No.
Will we be doing our upcoming event there? We have decided to go ahead, but we will be staying mostly on the NC side, we scouted a few other roads when in the area and think we found a great ride on the NC side besides hellbender and will show it to our little crew.
One other note, Killbow and whoever else is taking photos out there, you really need to NOT use such hotties taking pics, dear lord, I almost drove off the road.
