We're pretty sure it was just the double-apex nature of that turn around what we call "Shade Tree" corner. He railed through the first apex, got on the gas thinking he was out, then the second apex made things tighten up on him and he scraped and low-sided trying to make it. Nothing else he coulda done at that point other than try to ride it out. Bummer too...nice guy.

glad he's ok. unfortunately one of the guy's in my group low sided this weekend at Tuggles Gap in VA and there wasn't any run off... just a guard rail.
