Fuel Concerns

Just a heads-up for those heading to the Gap this weekend, they have been rationing gas in Robbinsville to $20 maximum per person for the past couple of days. I'm not sure how they're going to hold up through the weekend, but I've heard that supplies are on the way and it was an over-reaction. I just spoke with the folks at the Deal's Gap motorcycle resort and they think they will be fine through the weekend on gas, although they may ration to motorcycle sales only.

Darryl,
Thanks for the update. Have a month before my trip, packing lunches now to save for gas.
Let us know if things don't change.
How is price up there? Ga now takes +$20.00 just to fill a Blackbird.

I'm so tired of "It's cheaper than Europe... It's cheaper than Great Britain..." That's a bullshit response. The reason it's so damned expensive in Great Britain and every other EU country is the tax structure. Gasoline is cheaper in Great Britain than it is in the United States if you remove all taxes. Great Britain charges a *75%* tax. It's government-sanctioned rape.

I'm not saying conservation wouldn't be a good idea, but comparing European prices to American prices is apples to oranges.
