wind/lightning storms came through the area last night. We drove back home from Knoxville to Robbinsville while it was finishing up at about 10pm, and there were about a dozen trees across the road down along the lakes just north of Deals Gap, but we got around them in the Mini and made it home ok. The Gap itself was fairly clear, with just small debris here and there, and one tree down near the state line (TN side) but it was only blocking one lane. Being a federal highway, TDOT should have it all cleared up pretty quickly, but they've got busy roads in town to clear also.
Mini Cooper Rally this week/weekend...500+ cars, 800+ people. Overshadowing the Mazda Rotary Rally also taking place. And finally, Race 2 in the Fiddies 4 Life 2011 minibike racing series takes place Saturday night in the Deals Gap Resort parking lot.
