Weekly Update - May 18, 2011

WHEW!  What a weekend...super busy but Saturday I saw one the weirdest things I've ever seen out there.  Traffic was zooming by so fast I could barely keep up, then for almost 3 hours in the middle of the day, it just fell silent...barely a vehicle drove by.  I figured the rapture had begun and imagined bikes laying all along the side of the road, still running and spinning their tires on their sides in ditches.  Turns out it was just a bad wreck and they had to stop traffic to get the rider and bike up the steep bank.  There had just been another wreck up the road too...hope everyone heals up quick.

This weekend is Memorial Day, so Wheeler will be cooking out at his shop...stop by for fresh free food!  Big 2-stroke rally and a couple other groups will be around according to our calendar, and the 4th Fiddy race of the season will take place in the resort parking lot, so lots to keep us busy.  Hope you all have fun wherever you are.  On to the highlights!

Man tires have come a long way huh?

...and we saw a bit of traffic from that event.

Dragon Beetle

This thing flew in and landed on my arm while I was shooting a string of bikes. You have no idea how violently I started flailing appendages as soon as everyone had gone by.

Despite all the hype, it's a walk in the park for most.

Open road beckons.

Forester XT group rolled through also.

They only had 8-10 cars in the group, but I really like 'em, and they share a lot of upgradability with the STi.

2-strokers are in town this week...

...so expect to see a lot of these guys.

Didn't happen near us, but apparently he went WAY down the bank, and got banged up pretty bad.  Leathers and lots of help probably saved his life.
