Weekly Update - October 27, 2010

As always, shots from the last seven years are up in Our Store here, and be sure to check out the recent additions to the area scenery/wall art selections. Below are some of the highlights from last week.

DON'T FORGET to hit the "Older Posts" link at the bottom of each page to get to the end. ;)

A bit of traffic at times last weekend, but surprisingly slow overall considering all of the nice colors in the area.  Weather has really moved in over the last couple of days, with high winds and rain right now, so that should knock a lot of the leaves off, but many are still green.

The only groups on the calendar for this weekend is a Corvair rally.  Don't forget the big party going down at the Deals Gap resort Friday and Saturday night too.  We've got the big wheels ready, Lori's got some cool costumes for each night, and I'm trying to get the minibike prepped and ready to run.  Can't wait to mix it up with lots of friends at night for a change!

Also, we've got a shot in this month's (Dec. 2010) issue of Sport Rider.  Flip to page 20, the "Late Braking" department, and you may notice a big familiar shot from days past.

On to the highlights!

Leafwatch 2010 continues...

Just took this one yesterday, so it's poppin' fresh.

Leaves are starting to gather on the road...

...particularly when it's calm for a while.

See all those specs?

Yeah that's not dirt on the lens...those are asian lady bugs. Except for the helicopter shaped spec...that's a helicopter.

Makes it a little hard to concentrate...

...with these foul-smelling creatures constantly landing all over you. They're a cross between a lady bug and a stink bug, and they'll...uhh...let's call it "secrete", a bitter smelling juice if you try to pick one up or apply any pressure on them. Apparently they were introduced to the area intentionally to try and control other insect populations, but now they're out of control with no natural enemies as they are mildly toxic.
