Weekly Update - June 24, 2009

Hot one last week, but nice weather for the most part. It was fairly busy during the week, and fairly quiet/slow Saturday...starting to see more of that trend lately. The Cherohala Challenge bicycle ride was the big event, with probably a couple hundred riders making the big loop in the scorching heat...impressive to say the least.

Not much on the calendar this week - a Subaru Alcyone group and I know there is a big CBX rally, so that'll be cool. We're already seeing a few CBXs this week, and they sound killer.

Happy Birthday to my favorite nephew, Tanner, who turns 9 today. Hope you enjoy the new big wheel as much as you did riding mine. =)

The storms last week made a bit of a mess...

I got it out of the road the best I could before I started shooting, but I couldn't move the whole thing by myself. Ended up breaking it up into smaller pieces where I could, and left the bigger part roadside. Now I have poison ivy...not sure if it's from this though. I don't think a week goes by during the summer that I'm not itching somewhere. (not there!)

Cherohala Challenge bicycle ride was last Saturday...

These folks ride from Tellico TN, across the Tail of the Dragon, over to the Cherohala Skyway, and back to tellico...116 miles over a 5300 foot summit and 9000 feet of elevation change total. Oh, and it was about 96 degrees Saturday.
