Random Update - November 29, 2011

Not much going on this time of year for update material.  We've been running around a bit, went to Panama City Florida a couple of weeks ago and got a few shots...I'll get some of those on here shortly. (They're on our Facebooks as well.)  And then did Thanksgiving with my family who I only get to see a couple of times a year.

We've got a TV shoot with Discovery Channel coming up on Tuesday December 6th for any of you that want to get your mug/bike/car on TV.  Just come on out to the Gap and they will be shooting us shooting you all going by.  We need some subject material!  And it would be nice to have a mix of bikes, so don't be shy about bringing out your cruiser/touring bike/dual-sport whatever.  Keep it sane, they're just looking for casual riding/driving and we don't need the place portrayed a tool's paradise any more than it already is. ;)

*UPDATE* They are aware of the forecasted  rain and focusing on getting interviews with enthusiasts mostly.  They have plenty of action footage from us and Tail of the Dragon.com so they are not going to stress getting action footage of their own if it's nasty weather...still hoping enough people show up to be interviewed though.  Also just found out that hunting season is underway and last through this week, so use caution coming through!

Could you arrange for a couple of 70 degree days to make my trip worthwhile? Thanks.

Looks like you're already gathering the right tools for the job, KB.

Have a great shoot. Sure you'll let us know when Discovery airs it--right?

Happy holidays!

I will Bob! In the mean time the piece that Travel Channel shot in June will air Dec. 10 3pm...it's called America's Wildest Roads.

sounds like a good excuse to miss some time at work... Just might need to take the Subie there :)

If they want to film Bikes,Why couldn't they do this in August when a bike goes by every 10 seconds?

Travel Channel's description of the scheduled show: "A trucker barely escapes the deadly 2011 Joplin Missouri tornado in Tornado Alley. A biker club cruises a Tennessee road with over 518 hairpin turns." No, it just SEEMS like 518 turns!

...especially if you're stuck behind a biker club.

Yeah we did have a lot of fun...the timing was perfect. The place was a ghost town and temps were still good! A lot of places were already closed for the season, but still a lot open and we didn't have to wait in lines or deal with crowds. Planning to do it again next year even bigger...maybe take the jet skis down. We'll have some pics and vids up shortly.
