Weekly Update - August 28, 2008

Pretty nice last weekend, busy at times with the Women's Sportbike Rally mixing it up with other bikes and cars visiting the area. No major incidents that I know of, so hopefully everyone had a good time.

Not much on the calendar this weekend...well nothing on it really, but hopefully the weather will clear out and make for some decent riding. It has been raining pretty hard here for the past several days.

Ok, on to the highlights!

Women's Sportbike Rally 2008 @ Fontana Village

There were several cool events...

Like the bike push shown here.

Of course some people tried to stretch the rules...

You had to sit ON the bike while you push. (I tried to do a few circles in the turtle race, where you motor from point-to-point as slowly as possible, but I failed miserably.)

They were no competition though.

Coolest. Parents. Evar.

14 years old and she's already got a bike every guy in the parking lot was drooling over.

Boy in blue(ish) have been out nearly every day...

This is the first we've seen of Knox County this year, and they were just passing through, scrubbing the chicken strips off the tires I assume. Cool sight though!

Well...it's a cool bike.

Of course there were lots of ladies on bikes running around.

Scorpion helmets was on the scene.

For your own safety...

...get the heck off the road if you meet one. They'll need the whole road in most of the turns.

...but our sympathies go out to the innocent party. We saw a wrecked bike go out on a flatbed shortly after, but no ambulances and it appeared that everyone was alright.
