You're right. Pushing the bike under is exactly what will eventually happen to this rider. Low side city coming up real soon now.
Drop your shoulder, pick up your outside elbow and lead with your chin. A little butt scoot to the inside will make the commitment total.
Basically the upper body is leaning the "wrong" way. Some guys can really make this work, so who's to say what's right and wrong, but for the most part, quicker/smoother riders eventually get their head/shoulder over there on the inside of the bike...like you're trying to touch your inside elbow to the road.
The upper body is usually the last part that gets moved over there...something about the brain screaming "NOOOO!" to that asphault rushing by. ;)
